    Default smile charges ***WON***

    Hi,
This is my first post to this web site. I've been looking through the various sections and I'm amazed at how much we all get ripped off.
I've incurred charges from 3 banks; smile, Natwesticon and Lloydsicon TSB. I decided to start with smile and see how I go from there.
I've chosen this as I opened it in 2006 and have all transactions already.
I must admit its quite a scary thing to take on a large bank.

    Hi

You should have an easy ride with Smile. They tend to settle after sending the two letters (prelimary & lbaicon).

Thumbs up Re: smile charges - WON!

    Hi,
    I've won!
I sent 2 letters to smile requesting £811.00 (which included overdrafticon interest & protection insurance). On the 26th Feb I got a reply offering a refund of the charges applied to my account of £745 (not ncluding overdraft & insurance interest) 'as a gesture of goodwillicon'. This had already been applied to my account.
I'm as happy as Larry and will accept it. Now its time to take on the big boys - Natwesticon & TSB.
I've donated 5% off my win to the web site as a thank you.
I reckon I'll need a lot more support when I take on NatWest.
    Thanks for all your suppot,
    Regards,
    jly6

    Hi there,
Smile are definitely the best people to start with as apart from occasionally being a bit petty (ie losing paperwork, forgetting to send it out etc)
They are pretty straight forward but they do send you a sulky letter telling you they have given you your money grudgingly

So dont worry two letters and about seven to 10 days after the second letter and you should have your money.
I am trying to do Lloydsicon and I cant even get them to respond to the S.A.R let alone give me any money!

    Good Luck and dont worry!
