Hi decided to apply for S.A.R on 18th January for O/H's EggCard that was closed in 2003 by default {due to their never ending charges} however fully paidshortly after.

Right first a bit of history, the card account was registerd under an old previous address {his mothers} and he had an old statement for this address which was in 2003 and provided this. Also, sent a utility bill for the next address he moved to following that and informed of his new address and provided a current within 3 months utility bill for that as well as passport ID.
Right heard nothing. Anyways the sneaky b*g***s sent a letter 18 days later to his old registered address{hoping he would not get it} but he did cos his mum rings up a couple of days ago and says she has a egg letter.![]()
Right you may of guessed what the letter was about....ID! They apparently {considering he moved 4 years ago} want a statement from this address that is less than 3 months old at the same time the same for the address after that. {they are having a laugh!!!!} cos as they state the ID is INVALID as it is not within the last three months.OK duh!!!!
and once they receive the Id requested will provide hos request{says nothing about the date starting from when they receive this}
So today have sent off a letter with the ORIGINAL now utility bill that they already have for his current address, though this was a photocopy {think they will be shocked he got their letter though...their plan to stall is not working me thinks....} stating to provide the 'within' 3 month Id for the other addresses as being impossible and unreasonable and that by providing all the ID in his S.A.R originally that should of been sufficient in confirming his identity, oh and told them that if they had read the letter properly they would have known that he had moved as it said so as well as this was at the top of the letter.
Have reminded them of their deadline to comply which is 27th Feb and that they have taken 18 days through their own delay in sending the letter concerning the ID as it was dated 6th Feb, also that he will report them to the Information Commissioner if they do not comply and that he was well aware of their behaviour in sending out peoples S.A.Rs with delaying and stalling the process.
For anyones information their address for return is different than where the S.A.R was sent too It is;

reason is because of compensatory damages through remortgaging and default removal.
