You can call for them, but on this site its recomended that you send the SAR and £10. As then if it gets to the court stage you will have all the paper work. Also there is no proof over a telephone call.
I phoned up for mine, cost me £5 and was delivered in 7 days... I have been reading many threads about Halifax messing people around with Sars requests and them having to wait ages for the statements to arrive. If you want them quicker then call them, you could always send a covering sars letter to confirm your telephone conversation, so you have it in writing.

cani ask can i do the same with my Capital One card they are chasing me for money and have stopped the card ,i was paying but the min payment went up each month because of late charges
