Hi, I was wondering if anyone could advise me about A&L. I have once again been charged £34.00 for being 33p overdrawn. It has now snowballed and I'm certain that I will be charged agian today for yet another dd being stopped. I am now going to pay in some money to bring me back under my overdraft and am unsuer what to do next. I know that it was my own fault and thought that this is why they can charge such extortionate charges. Reading through the forum though it seems that I'm mistaken. I have spoken to someone at A&L who have informed me that they will forward my request to the manager and should hear within 2 days. Do you think they will only waiver the one that I was mislead by their own customer services advisor or both. If they don't refund me whats the next step. Any advice gratefully accepted. Thanks
Before you can take any action you should familiarise your self with the procedures for reclaiming back bank charges. This involves alot of reading of the FAQs on this site and also other peoples threads, in your case, especially the ones for A & L.
A & L will eventually pay you back all your bank charges with interest, providing that you follow what is a quite simple procedure. Understand this though, you would be starting a legal process which could end up in court. Are you prepared to go this far? If you are then for your own sake take at least 1 FULL WEEK reading the threads andFAQs on here. Slowly, it will all fall into place and then you will be ready.
A point to bear in mind with A & L is that if you successfully claim back all your bank charges, they WILL close your account. Be prepared and have another "parachute" account up and running, that you can use should this happen.
I wont wish you good luck Becoz you reaally wont need it!!!
Happy hunting
