Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
hi
my wife started a claim against nat west in october and got to the stage of asking for the money back. but because of family matters we didnt have time to continue with the claim. shes thinking of re starting the clame (if she can?) but has heard of this company [edit] they say they do everything for you and as payment they take 10% of your settlement. we are very busy all the time so it sounds good. but we didnt whant to rush into this without asking if anyone has heard/used them
thanks

Hi - not heard of them, but I'd say "do it yourself"!!! It's better in your pocket than theirs. All the templates, help and advice are here for you. Good luck whatever you decided. Best wishes.

Halifax - £2281, successfully refunded all charges after LBA letter & telephone call.
Have been offered the difference between the £20 and £12 charges from Capital One -- am sending LBA for remainder.
GE Money - Received settlement of £441, being total charges requested. No interest though.
CCA'd Bank of Scotland / Blair Oliver Scott to produce CCA Agreements on two Credit Cards - well in default, although still chasing payment!!!
EOS Solutions "ceased action on account" on behalf of a friend.
All in all, quite busy at the moment and enjoying every minute of it
I, personally, wouldn't touch this or any other organisation that charges money for this service.
The procedure for reclaiming your money is fairly simple and here at CAG you have access to all the materials you need, along with people who have been there before and will help you at every step of the way.
Good luck with your claim
BEFORE starting your claim read through the FAQ's and if there's something you aren't sure of then ask.

Along with firms that promise to fight your Endowment Claim, clean your Credit Record and manage your debts, forget it. Do it yourself. You lean much more and you keep all the proceeds yourself. That's why CAG is here!
I also have information from "Bank Smart" - and was wondering if it would be quicker to claim through them, considering everything is on hold during the test case. But thanks for the "heads-up"!

Hi
I have had claims with Bank-smart edit and I have found them to be outstanding in the service they provide and the live website that they use, so that you can check the progress of your claims anytime 24hrs a day.
I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.
Thank you Bank Smart

Bank smart are a good way to go with your claims as they are specialists in this field and they won't get fobbed off with half hearted offers from the banks. They want you to get back as much as possible.
They have the best software to deal with your claims.

What software would that be Top brass? Thay "Bank Smart" do not advertise it on there website. I am an analyst and would be very interested to know what software they use and then maybe run some comparisons.
Also originally Bank Smarts website quoted "No Win No Fee" but in the terms and conditions at that time there was a charge of around £100 + VAT for each account they were looking at. This of course meant that should there be no refund or a very small one then you would be out of Pocket anyway.
This was later changed and the "No Win No Fee removed" It is my personal opinion that these sites in general have nothing to lose whether you manage get charges back or not. It is also my personal view that any company that does not publish a contact telephone number and uses affiliate marketing techniques is always questionable.
I offer help and advice in good faith, based on my knowledge and experience. I am NOT a legal or financial expert. There are many CAG members and site team who are better qualified. Please do not make major decisions based on my advice alone.I do not give advice via P.M's. If anyone can correct my mistakes or improve on my advice, please do.

I have used bank smart and you have nothing to worry about!
They have a secure log in so that you can check your claim status via there website.
If you no longer have your secure log in details you can email them Edit and they would provide you with your details, after clearing the security questions.
Hope this helps

Bank Smart has been a nightmare for me. First the contract has no dates so it can go on and on. terms and conditions of the contract are not consumer friendly. Be aware they are using the Financial Ombudsman Service to go after the money for you.
Save yourself a never ending debt with Bank Smart, go to the fos website and have them do the legalities for you free!

I presume from your inside knowledge that you are connected to the company. In which case, how do you explain the number of complaints that are dotted around the net, and on this site.

Software? What Top brass means the software he uses at work in Bank-Smart. I think we have some Bank-Smart employees posting praises to save face!
LOL

Hmm I have had a claim with them since august 2007!!! and am still waiting.. My daugter has had one within 8 months and hers is already moving to the you should get your money within 21-56 days interestingly she has a £99 fee added to her claim as well as the 10% which wasn't mentioned at the time of her claiming. Maybe thats why her claim is progressing quicker than mine.
On another note I would love to know which is the correct address they are using seeing as there is no telephone number to get through to them by.
Addresses apparently used by them are
1. Bank Smart
1st Floor, Western House
Bank-Smart
Tabernacle Street
Truro
TR1 2EJ
2.Bank-Smart
[Head Office]
11-15 Betterton St
Covent Garden
London WC2H 9BP
3. Bank-Smart
[Statement Processing]
Second Floor, Chiltern House
City Road, Truro
Cornwall TR1 2JL
Companies House has this BANK SMART LIMITED
5 JUPITER HOUSE
CALLEVA PARK ALDERMASTON
READING
BERKSHIRE
UNITED KINGDOM
RG7 8NN
Company No. 06649870
And guess what when checking on the royal mail postcode checker none of these address seems to have a Bank-Smart listed. There address listed on this site is to a South West Mortgages Company!
I am wondering whether we will actually see our money if it gets to them will it actually be passed onto us and the amount first promised.
I do wish I had gone through the fos now and did it myself.

Wonders why my claim seems to be taking so long.. I went with them cos it seemed very good at the time and people saying yes go for it. But now after reading all the scare stories and my claim taking ages... then coupled with the fact there are no phone numbers to contact them. I am starting to worry.
My daughter has since her claim started suddenly found out there is a £99 charge added to her 10% which wasnt mentioned when she first claimed only the 10%. And now my claim has been ongoing since August 2007 and I hardly hear a peep from them to let me know whats going on unless I ask first its a bit off putting. I am not due much back around £200 so take away £99 on top that doesn't leave much.
I am hoping that my claim gets through soon as I am doing a road trip in August and as I did last August hope that the money will be through by then so my kids can have a holiday that will include some nice trips!
Oh well Wait and see.
On another note what seems to be mentioned a lot is that the bank accounts get closed after you make a claim ? I am with the Halifax is there any evidence that they are doing so ?
