Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Sent a small boxed gift to a friend in India via royal mail international signed for but didn’t attach the customs declaration label as I got a friend to post. Always done this before myself but forgot to mention it to him. The parcel was sent 20 days ago and has still not got there. Spoke to a friend @ the PO who said that its probably been pulled @ customs in India. Is there any way I can either get this to my friend abroad by calling customs up from here or get it returned to me in once piece? The package contains a cheap mobile. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
HMRC will not be able to help you. If Indian customs are holding it, I would have expected them to contact the recepient for duty/handling charges; not simply ignore it.
Best bet is to officially query it with Royal Mail as a failed 'signed-for' delivery and see what the official answer is. They may well be able to track it better than a mate at the PO. Take the stance that it simply has not arrived - don't mention customs or missing forms - the PO is equally at fault for accepting a parcel on this sort of servcie without the necessary customs declaration.

Thanks for the reply, I will ring Royal mail and see what they say. My fear is that it may have been swiped @ customs. I have also asked my friend abroad to query it.
