Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
i have just been reading through Bankfodders guidance notes on going to court. I found them pretty useful actually, but as i was reading through them i started wondering about just how many times a bank actually has defended. I was under the impression that upto date none of them have defended, though i got the impression some of them have on occasion.
So just the one time and they won, thats strange isnt it you would have thought if they had won the very first time they would defend every time !
very odd...
so thats the only instance of a bank ever defending and they won ?
I am aware that Citi Financial defended a case in 2006 in N.Ireland which they won, albeit by producing last minute evidence which the judge allowed them to give in private.
However said case is under appeal, and Citi seem strangely reluctant to reveal their background figures that supported their defence - wonder why?
Maybe one of the Mods could put me right...someone must know for sure how many and who they were...
Anyone have a list of which banks defended and when and what outcome ?
any ideas
