Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I am claiming for £662 from barclaycard they sent me an offer of £336 and i called them to find out how they came to this figure basically they worked it out based on original £24 charge minus the OFT recommendation of £12 so more or less half of the figure i claimed, i told them i would accept this as and supplied my details for them to send payment to as i have paid off the card now i cant remember if i said as part of the claim. Do i just continue ahead with rejection letter and acceptance of part of claim, and continue for the remainder of the claim
This is the problem with doing things on the phone, you now have no record........
I don't really know what to say? If you don't know what you've said, what can we do to help?
If they are sending you payment, then they probably think you have accepted it as full settlement.
Don't really know how you are going to get out of this. You will have to ring them up and try and clarify your position and tell them you will confirm in writing.
It's important to follow the process implicitly.
