Default Here we go! Claiming £6925.50 plus pos. £1730.00 in interest

I took an account out with TSB (Trustee Savings Bank in the old days) when I was a mature student and with me, they were fantastic then (1993/4). Very much had it sussed in that they were investing in higher earners of the future and couldn't have given me more support and advice. Then they merged with Lloydsicon... Stopped us from dealing with our own branches, with people who knew me well and knew what I was about. Then all the contact was with 'down south' and the attitude changed. Because of my good experience with them previously, I took out my mortgage with them and my mortgageicon insurance. Unfortunately some years later was made redundanticon and that's when the rot really set in. They didn't pay out until months later, denying I had even been in contact with them at the beginning of my unemployment, when the first thing I did, was contact both them and the Job Centre on the very first day of my unemployment, to register. The charges accruing from that were horrendous and has affected my credit rating for a number of years.

I have spent the last few days, calculating all my charges and interesticon accruing from that and have just printed off the letter as per moneysavingexpert.com . I'll also be pursuing their Asset Card and mortgage divisions as I also had to pay a considerable amount of charges to them at the same time, for the same reason. I am so angry that they have gotten away with this for so long and very grateful for all the advice this site offers. Thanks guys! Also, how the heck have they got the brass neck to pay some direct debits and in particular, payments via Debit Card, when they know there is not enough money in the account? I had thought (stupidly, it now seems), that they prevented payments if you hadn't enough funds... duh... Mind you, does help them collect a heck of a lot of charges, which is more to their benefit, than mine.

I'll keep you posted on how things develop and if you have any further advice or information, would be happy to hear from you.

Hello Roapo (I'm not typing that in full every time!).

Welcome to the ltsbicon forum, home of the long-sufferers!

You'll soon replace that anger with a quiet determination, born out of knowledge, to get even.

Good hunting and if you want to know anything, just ask. There are a lot of good people on this forum ready to help.

Sort of figuring out how to access posts... Not thee most comp. literate, at least with websites, anyway. And yes, have a smouldering knowledge building, thanks to a few websites, including the Govan Law Centre. From there I found out that although resident in Scotland, can pursue the bank through the English courts. Means I can claim back 6 yearsicon, not just 5 years as here north of the border.

And not surprised about the Roapo nickname, am kind of regretting venting off before realising I could put something else in easier to type. Particularly, as I (sad sod...) counted out how many ... I would need for the missing letters, in case I got blocked. By the way 'isse' lol As if you hadn't figured that one out!

Could do with a bit of advice, if anyone can help me out here. I managed to track down all bar a couple of bank statements (god knows why I hoarded them all these years - just glad now I did!) and have typed up the list of charges, calculated interesticon as per moneysavingexpert.com. It looks like I haven't missed any charges out. Also, have sent off the SARicon to Lloydsicon but this was to cover bank accounts, credit card and mortgageicon account before I realised I have all the bank charges.

The question is, should I hold off sending in the request for payment until I receive confirmation from Lloyds about totals, or is it safe to send off what I've calculated so far? Honestly don't think I've missed anything.

Looking forward to hearing your comments.

    Ta much.

    Hi,

If you're sure you haven't missed anything then send it offf the prelim letter. I highly doubt they will settle before then - not for such a high amount anyway. If you receive the statements through before your lbaicon and find you have missed something then all you need to do is amend your schedule of charges - and the same can be done when you file your claim at court.

    Good luck. Lucid
