    Default the SAR letter...a question

    I noticed a 40 day reply option on the sample letter. Is this the norm or should it be shorter length of time?

    When you send a Data Protection Act SARs letter (Enclose £10 fee) they then have 40 days in which to comply with your request. If they don't comply withing 40 days then you report the non-compliance to the Data Commissioners Office.

    The 40 days is standard.
