Ok guys the story goes a little like this...

In Jan 2006 I opened an A&L Premier account with a linked Savings account, giving 10% on regular savings over a 12 month period. As i needed to start putting some money away I signed on the line.

The account was opened as was my saving account and for a couple of months all was grand, well that was until i tried to transfer my salary and DD's. In a nutshell over the past 11 months I have on three separate occasions, tried to switch from my current bank using the provided form, but on each occasion they seem to disappear either in the mail or with in A&L. Here is the problem, the form states that no charges will be applied during the switching process, even if i go overdrawn. You guessed it, todate they have hit me with over £377 in charges, £200 of which is "Unauthorized overdrafticon charges"

Here is the thing, and don't hate me for saying this, I do actually like A&L and the package they offer but I'm a tad miffed that I've been hit with these charges. Naturally I've tried to reclaim these but the guys in the call center don't know anything about their policy during the switching process. and as such feel that the charges are justified.

What would you do, would you write a polite yet stern letter, or try and resolve this in your local branch.

Any pointers would be a great help, and pointers toward a suitable letter (if there is such a thing) will be worth a couple of pints
