    Unhappy Bailiffs ...Excessive Fees ...Help!!!

I have recently had dealings with Chandlersicon bailiffsicon, they almost doubled my original debt which was for Council Tax, they made 2 visits to my house the second visit being totally uneccessary as I was paying on a monthly basis but was 7 days late making the payment, although they still visited even after I had made the payment to tell me I had breached the original agreement.....luckily I had moved and the new owner told them to get lost (not is such nice words though).

Anyway thankfully after that second visit I have paid the total amount in full which was over £1000 for a £500 council tax bill......

Does anyone know how I go about getting some of these fees back, I have read something on here about a S7 ....excuse my stupidity....but I dont know what a S7 is....can anyone help?

    Hi,

An S7 is a request, under the data protection act for information held about you. It is important to ask that computer form also be provided. Ask for a break down of fees and charges and visits times and dates.

It costs £10 and we have a basic template on our site or I am sure one can be found here.

The information will inform you of visits and fees charged. Council tax and bailiffsicon have set fees that can be charged so if you have over paid, you can claim your fees back.

It is important that before claiming and lodging for fees to be returned, that you have the Section 7 access request back as you will need this information to prove that you have been over charged.

Please read carefully before filing for money back and make sure you have a solid case. Many cases win or lose depending on how they are presented to the court.

Good luck and if this is not clear, happy to advise further.

    Alison

Default question re: bailiffs and towing of car!

    Hope someone can help!
basically car was towd by bailifficon company acting on behalf of local council over a parking ticket i knew nothing about. never received any previous correspondence over it.
    charges are as follows

    £125.00 for original parking ticket.
£22.50 for 2x letters "apparantly" sent
    £175.00 towing fee
£130.00 for the bailliff to visit once to tow car
    £35.00 levyicon fee

17 days for storage in pound at £8.00 per day whilst i argued the pcnicon and bailliff charges. seemed council and bailliff company deliberatley stalling.

Total cost over £600 which i have paid in order to get my car back.
    What can i do?
I was never aware of PCN and charges seem totally excessive!
