Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I would be pleased if someone could read and give some advice.
I dont deny that this loan is outstanding which i have defaulted on do to changed circumstances. I have sent a a reduced payment to them each month which they have accepted and requested them to allow me to continue paying this amount until my circumstances change. They have never replied to my request and now they are going to the county court requesting the full amount. The last letter I wrote is as follows., again no reply just CC papers.
What is the best way to reply to the CC? They have added ? £500 on for costs... and I really did try to make an arrangement ... Can I ask the CC not to give costs against me?
I am really stressed and worried abou this..... Thanks for anyones help.... Mrs AllanLyn
Dear Sir/Madam
Re Account No/Reference No: − xxxxxxxxxxx
Since makingagreement with you, my circumstances have changed.
I cannot now afford to meet the agreed monthly payments because of the high number of outstanding debts my husband and I have. My husband was made redundant in January 2006 and since that time he has only had limited work.
If you require I can forward to you a Personal Budget sheet which shows my total income from all sources, and my outgoings. The offers I have made to my other creditors have worked out on a pro−rata basis, and I have written to all my creditors asking them to accept reduced payments.
In view of my circumstances, please would you agree to accept a reduced offer of £20 per month? If interest or other charges are being added to the account I would be grateful if you would freeze these so that all payments made will reduce what I owe you.
Should my circumstances improve I will contact you again.
I would be grateful if you would send a paying in book to make it easier to pay you. Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.
