Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have been with lloydstsb since I was young, and in the past 4-5 years been in and out of work, on and off JobSeekers Allowance like a yo-yo. At one point I had a charge of £125 in one month (£90 o/d excess + £35 bounced dd charge). This often has, and with me has, caused a vicious loop, incurring o/d excess charges because a previous o/d excess has taken me beyond my o/d limit.
I am now £380 odd overdrawn, made an agreement with the collections department in Brighton to pay in £25/month. I have not missed a payment, yet, where LloydsTSB increased my overdraft limit to £400, decreasing it each month, it is again lower than my balance, and I have still incurred another £30 o/d excess fee plus £6.53 interest this month.
Should LloydsTSB not have stopped the o/d excess fees?
I have paid at least £1000 in charges in the past 4-5 years. Could anybody give me an idea of how much I could expect to get back if I go ahead and make a claim?
Hi James
If you make a claim you will get ALL your charges back form the past 6 years, so it's well worth doing it.
Have a look at the frequently asked questions first and have a good read round the site: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...se-read-these/
Good luck, and let us know if you need any help.
Barty
Barty, I'm back. I have received a letter from the complaints department in Hampshire, in response to template number 2. It basically says that there is nothing I can do because my charges are defaults charges, and they also said that they do not provide a Breakdown of their charges which they say is common to many other businesses. My charges actually worked out to about £861 and not over £1000 as estimated in my original post.
I have, in the past few months, been contacted by a new company called TLA Tyler who are a sister company of YourClear Ltd. TLA Tyler also specialise in banks charges. After a bit of a mix-up during registration with them, and very shortly after submitting the cheque to lloydstsb for the £10 statutory maximum fee for data access, I e-mailed Samina Aziz - my personal advisor, only to receive a reply on her behalf that both YourClear Ltd and TLA Tyler Ltd have both ceased trading and any correspondence received from my bank will be sent to me.
I did receive the list of charges over the past 6 years (even though the £10 cheque bounced :o), and I have just printed letter #3 to proceed with Consumer Action Group.
