    Default Cymru vs Barclaycard

Hi all in this forum. I sent out letter to Barclaycard on 29/12/2006 requesting statements etc, as of yet nothing. Today I phoned them to ask what is happening and was told they hadn't rec'd my letter, even though track and trace tells me it was delivered. The nice gentleman on the phone promised he would look into it, I then asked if he realised the reason for the request, his reply was ' is it about the charges' to which i obviously replied yes and that we could save a lot of time and trouble on both our parts if all my charges were just refunded rather going through the whole process. He stated he would look into it and get back to me today. Should I hold my breath, lol.

This is what happened to me. They gave me the spiel about microfiche saying I could buy copies of my statements for £3 each.

When I phoned to advise them they had to provide these, I was asked what I wanted them for and I said to reclaim my charges.

The lady asked me to email her that I wanted the charges refunded and they would investigate and refund me in full.

After a number of emails she finally accepted that she had received my request, a month or so later I got a letter offering to refund each charge minus the £12 set by the OFT.

I accepted as a part payment, MCOL'd them and they defended on friday.

Did you get his name, phone no and email. If so keep on him. They wriggle and jiggle and do anything to get out of it

Some success I think, Barclaycard did return my call yesterday and after going through 5 different people I was told to fax or write to Manchester, I got a phone number off the internet for the offices in Manchester and called them and spoke Tracy Burgess who asked me to send her all the details etc and she would ensure I was refunded within 3 weeks. It reamins to be seen if this happens but I will keep you updated.

Hi all, rec'd letter from Tracy Burgess this morning offering £600, this being the difference between what they charged and £12 as recommended by OFT. I will write accepting as part payment only, but want the whole lot refunded.
