Hi can anyone please help, I have finally recieved my court date and am unsure as to what it is I need to prepare for court.... what do I take?
Please please please help court date is 20th of feb a while a way but would like to be prepared.

Hi thank you both for your help. May seem a little dumb for me to ask but out of the court bundle how do I know which bits are relevent?I've never been to court in my life... except on a school trip so am more than a little lost please help

Hi - I'm just putting together my bundle for court. From what I've read in the forum, everything in the bundle should be included. There are some links which you should follow and print out seperately.
I'm told it's worthwhile reading through the cases outlined as if you do go to court, you'll need to use these cases to argue your own. Bit daunting?!
However I'm also told it's very unlikely that it'll go to court.
Hadn't thought about making contact over the phone but may try it myself - I'm now claiming for less as BC made a partial refund to my account in November.

Hi everyone
As a bit of advice, Barclaycard legal have not supplied a court bundle before the 14 days was up as specified by the judge so I called the court to ask their advice and they told me to call BC.
I called this morning to ask them where it was and they called back this pm to settle...
Keep going you're nearly there!

Just a quick update - followed the lead of a few others and phoned BC litigation dept (nos. in innocent's thread). The nice chap at the other end told me he was going to contact me to settle anyway, within a couple of weeks.
I'm going to hold off sending my bundle out and see what they offer.

Hi so what did you actually say when you rang them? Was it a case of just saying I'm in the process of taking you to court and wanted to know if you are going to settle or did you say something a bit more subtle?

Seems as if my threads been a little helpful.... cool
(Just wish that would settle with me soon eh? )
When I phoned I asked to speak to someone about the claim...
They put me thru.... I was always courteous and just started the conversation...
"Hi there. (These are my details) are we have a court hearing on xxxxxx! I am just wondering if there is anything that can be done now to settle the matter now before this stage?"
And then the communication began....
Make sure you have your correct settlement figure and all correspondance near you....
Can I suggest? Others who have been successful in this manner list here who they spoke to??? On what number???

Have just rang litigation and was very nervous for some reason and got all in a coffufal!!! The nice lady on the end of the phone said she would pass my message on so we'll see if they call back to settle

I had an excuse to call them to be honest, so it was easier for me to begin a conversation...
I called the court and they gave me a contact number for them, from the documents they had been sent. This number went straight through to an Adrian St John, who then arranged for someone to call back. She was called Rebecca something.
In all fairness, they were quite polite and non-agressive. As I've read in previous threads, its not their decision to enforce a penalty policy and I think they know the legalities (or lack there of) of the situation.
As a watch word, I have kept notes including times and dates and names of any telephone correspondance. You can never be too careful. I've also had legal advisors follow up their conversation with email confirmation as proof.
