Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I sent a SAR to A&L and 40 days is up on Sunday (I have not received any statements). I wouldn't mind but they cashed my £10 cheque on 21st December! When I call A&L they say that I can't speak to the department who deals with the SAR's. From reading other threads I understand that A&L take their time and try to drag things out.
The two accounts I will be claiming from were actually closed about 4 years ago so I have no charges to go on to make a guess at the charges they owe me.
My questions are: can I report them to the information commissioner? will this help in getting my statements through?
Be patient! If they cashed your cheque on the 21st december, then they're still on day 27 and if they tend to drag it to the 40 days, I would sit tight and wait an ickle bit longer. Unless you sent it recorded and can prove the day they received it???
