Default credit refrence agency is it possible ?

I am just wandering if the same SARicon is applicable to a credit refrence agency. The reason i say this is because of what is request in the SARicon. so if a cra has got the wrong information on its records and cannot prove except for it was supplied by a organistaion whatever then this could open up a flood of claims against the cra as they would then become liable to the relevant processing laws etc and unfair charges and also to incorresct information which you could order to have removed. also you would find out if manually anything was ever done etc also this would mean if you have evr complained to the cra then they have to disclose this to you as well. you could also hit them with a stop order to stop processing your data etc ? Any ideas ?

Everything you mentioned has been discussed before on these hallowed pages, and the agreement was that they are just as subject to the DPA as anyone else that processes your data.

Therefore, you have all the same rights with them as you have with anyone else.

Imagine if thousands of people hit them with court orders to cease processing their data, that would bugger them up good and proper

....one of the reasons the Government are considering a Central information pool with everybodies personal dataicon, including debt. The recent shake up of the Child Support Agency and the passing of arrears to DCAicon's has alerted the Gov to the fact they could be missing out on a nice little earner. Of course, the collection and S.A.R - (Subject access requesticon) etc. rules for HMG are very different (look at Social Fund for eg., no six year rule there), but with access to so much personal data, and with a little 'co-operation' from DCA's and CRA's, HMG could make a few quid out of a little recession which, let's face it, it's getting closer month by month. Something nasty is brewing...........imho.
