Angry What is the point of ... ???!!

....having a legal time frame for complying with CCA requests, etc. when debt collectionicon Agencies can laugh in the face of it and not produce documents until they get to court ?

If they can get away with this kind of behaviour and still be allowed to stand in court to try and get a debt re-enforced, what is the point of having legal timeframes when we can't rely on them for anything ?

... in a very BAD mood...

    I agree.

How do we force Trading Standards or whoever is responsible to bring a case against a DCAicon for non-compliance?

If you read Mr.Maynards statement in his rants about the changes in the way that the fosicon will be regulating complaints relating to the 1974 and 2006 Consumer credit act,you will see exactly how jittery they are in the knowledge that things are set to change.
Anyone in any doubts to this should read what he says.

If the process of making the CCA request is fully documented then the creditor/ DCAicon should have a fairly tough time explaining themselves in court.

Don't get me wrong- Trading Standards should act but they may fail to do so. You could contact your local councillor and MP and raise merry hell. There will be more reason for TS to take action if the DCA continues to harass after they have committed the criminal offence.

Not exactly Seminole, just that they are to be given a role in the regulating of the CCA act

Does this all happen in April 2007. Also will it effect the unregulated consumer credit agreements? Anything you purchase over £25000 seems to be unregulated. Just wonder if this new act will change it?
