    Default £12 Charge Reclaimable Or Not ?

    Hi
    Ive Been Reading Up On The Oft Definitions Of Legal Charges. What I Want To Know Is, Is The £12 Charge Re Claimable Or Not ?

    Has Anyone Successfully Claimed It Back?surely It Is Up To The Banks To Prove It Cost Them £12 To Process A Penalty ,and Of Course We Know It Doesnt Cost Anywhere Near Tha,l So Can I Add It To My List Of Charges

    Any Help Is Appreciated

    Add all charges including the £12 to your total claims because no one has recommended that £12 is a legal requirement. OFT only gave an indicative amount. Subsequent news report on the BBC and investigations revealed that the maximum per transaction could be £4.50 while a minimum could be less than a pound.

    I think you should let the court decide between you and the bank. Obviously, since the bank will exit the race at the last minute, you will receive your full refund + statutory interesticon + court cost.
