    Default going overdrawn

Hi, i have just found this group! well a couple of hours ago,i've been reading!!
I've just phoned Abbeyicon to ask if i could get bank charges reduced or removed as i will end up in the same situation month after month if they take these charges on 8th March (£255) i was told they could not help me unless i was completely overdrawn!! as i still have £100 in my account there is nothing they can do!

I said "isn't that like throwing a lifebelt to a man who has already drowned?"

looks like i will have to pay these charges this time, or would i be wise to go overdrawn and then ask for help??

Well there you are. Abbeyicon won't help you so you will have to help yourself.

    Open a parachute accounticon.

Do you knwo how much they have taken from you?
If not send them DPA request.
If yes the letter before actionicon - 14 days
    and then the Glad Tidings.

He means get an account somwhere else, as to get your money back involves doing things that Abbeyicon won't like and are likely to close your account - you still need somewhere to get wages paid etc....

(I thought it was quite good, considering Abbey's logo used to be a house-shaped parachuteicon!)

    Quite right - umbrella.

What's an umbrella if it's not a small parachuteicon? ;-)

I swear they used to have an advert with people skydiving in it - it might be a different bank though.

Wasn't it just falling - SPLAT - after the bank had taken away their parachuteicon?

    HA!!! No.

However, soon there will be a survey of banks who pay up the quickest, the best customer service etc...

Like the Which! reports, but the real deal.
