Hi all,
Would just like to say a big thank you to everyone thats posted on these boards and helped me with my claims over the last six months.
Sorry im late in posting what with xmas and all that but I would like to let you know that the week before xmas turned out to be well worth the six month struggle.
I had two claims on the go,one Natwest, the other Barclays.
Two weeks had passed since I sent my allocation form to cobetts for my Natwest claim, and was waiting for a court date, but then on the 18th December,BINGO! I received a cheque for the full amount £2200, great stuff, but they did not pay me the £200 distress fee. (never mind, worth a try).
It was funny because on the 20th I received a court date for March 3rd,,,,after I received the cheque.nevermind.
Fair play is what I thought.
Two weeks before xmas I was up till the early hours for a few nights putting together a Court Bundle consisting of 93 pages for Barclays,I must admit it was a big headache not knowing what to do,is this ok? is that ok?but with the help of three different forums,Consumer action group, motley fool and bank charges hell,I slowly built up an impressive court bundle,I had to get it in by the 18th December,(14 days before the hearing).
on the 19th Barclays rang me saying they did not agree with my total amount but offered me just over half the amount,I told them not to bother and that I will see them in court on the 2nd Jan,Anyway next day they rang,I was out,I could almost sense them weakeaning as the court date drew nearer.so the next day they rang again, and offered me the whole amount including £200 distress which I also claimed for,(knew id get it in the end)
The next day,I received a letter for me to sign,I then scanned it,and attached it to an email and the money was put into my account that same afternoon.BINGO!
Well, I certainly had a sigh of relief, and thought to myself it couldnt come at a better time.
What I would say though to people DONT EVER GIVE UP, DONT EVER FEEL THREATENED OR INTIMMIDATED BY A LETTER, THEY ARE JUST NORMAL BANKING PROCEDURES. ALWAYS CONSULT ONE,OR ALL OF THE FORUMS MENTIONED. YOU WILL GET THE BEST ADVICE FROM THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW.AND YOU WILL WIN.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL,AND THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Vinnie.
Congratulations Vinnie and another one in winners row! I take it you had a good Christmas and New Year and stay around to help the newer claimants as your experience will be invaluable on the site.
