Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
If you owe money to B/card, they have the legal right of offset, yes. If the money you owe is made of charges, then when you get your charges back, pay them back to your Barclays account, and you'll be back to square one.
Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
well im not to sure, as i havent been able to make the minimum payments in recent months and they have been charging me, inturn making me go over the agreed limit by £380 so they offset me the £380 to get me bcak in agreed teritory.
well done on your GHDs! ^^ my girfriends got here replaced f.o.c after 2yrs from new. but not so good for her mum, she had to pay £30 for replacments but she had them 3yrs so no complaints really.
edit. forgot to add the Barclays account is now closed due to the offset.
Thanks. They were my daughter's, and have been going fine ever since!
Like I said, offset is legal. The money offset would have reduced your balance by x amount. The only thing I would say if that when you issue your claim, make sure you specify you want the money refunded by cheque, not your closed Barlcays account, not to your Barclaycard account, as they took "cash" to pay to your c/c account, and therefore they should repay you the same.
