How much is acceptable as a late payment fee on a visa card please?

I've been charged 20 pounds but the minimum payment was only for 16.

This happens quite a lot cos they want the payment in a few days before I get paid, and therefore always seem to pay them a month late.

Can i claim this back of them? I have cut the card up and am just paying off the bill now.
