statements received 23rd December (looking at previous threads they seem to be getting quicker, or perhaps I just got lucky?)

Prelim sent today.....if they are true to form will get an offer of £1k, which I will then accept as partial payment within my lba icon

, around the 14th January!

Apparently was sent "a letter" on Friday in response to my lba icon

(the deadline was Friday).

Will update in the a.m. - suspect its the usual £1k, though, so looks like will be down at the court twice this week, as have 2 to file

I was wrong - the offer was for £995 not £1,000!

Called yesterday to decline offer and tell them I was sending lba icon

.........

They said they would reconsider.......

They called today increasing offer to £2000.....

I declined (again) and have sent LBA.

LBA has a 7 day fuse - will call them on day seven and see if they want to reconsider, otherwise its N1 time.

Will let you know next week, but suspect this will go very quiet for the next month or so until my court date approaches...

Out of curiosity, anybody else had three GOGW's before they have filed?
I have had 2 and that seems to be pretty standard

If they liked me that much the GOGW would have been double what they offered, but its a lovely thought

I think I will call them again next week, 48 hours before I file (as they dont seem to return calls to the 0207 116 4561 number until the next day...)

I know they will settle, having read all the other threads, and I am sure they know they will too, so as we both know that perhaps its just a case of haggling.....I am in the fortunate position that I do not need the settlement from them immediately so not in any rush, and 8% s69 interest icon

is way better than I can get anywhere else!
Having said that, I would prefer not to have the hassle of filing, doing an aq icon

, printing a court bundle, waiting, settling, then shredding about 500 sheets of wasted paper!

Lindylou - I didnt ring again....I am travelling a lot at the moment and over the next few months, and it is unlikely that I will be able to acept a court date before May - with that in mind, and the fact that they will be paying me 8% p.a. interest icon

which is rather more than my savings account pays, I am happy for them to sit on my money for a while so it can accumulate

(perhaps they should advertise this as their best savings scheme!)

Been away for a bit..........

Acknowledgement of claim made (the morning after the deadline)

Their defence due by close of business of the 21st, so ready for the aq icon

Only a copple of months to go and I will get my cash!

sent today together with "new strategy" for AQ's - have a call into Barclays icon

litigation and disputes dept to see if they want to settle before a court date is set (which I doubt)

Off on a trip for a couple of weeks so hope to have my court date when I get back

Just about to pop the aq icon

in the post but decided to call Barclays icon

first....

Explained I was about to send the AQ with the "draft directions" and that I would be away for a couple of weeks but had asked the Court to issue any directions at their earliest convenience, but wanted Barclays to know that if they wished to discuss settlement it would be potentially difficult for them to contact me while I was away.

He settled on the spot, no quibbling!!! In full !

Am waiting for an emailed settlement letter this p.m. which I will fax back and then the money will be in my account during tomorrow.

Settlement letter received, confidentiality agreement struck out, letter faxed back......24 hours and the cash should be mine.

A huge thank you to all at CAG icon

, especially for the new Allocation Questionaire strategy - I am sure this played a part in their desire to settle sooner rather than later.

Wow - well done Chorlton -congratulations - I'm just about to send my MCOL on Thursday (pay day) so hopefully they will settle mine as well as others sooner rather than later. Whistleblower sure must have put the wind up em -LOL - anyhow "Enjoy".
