Hi everyone, found this site a few weeks ago and was amazed to find out that I could claim back my bank charges, I also watched the money programe which gave lots of advice and was a really interesting watch. (I suprised myself lol). Anyway rang Halifax 4 days ago to ask for statments, paid £5 and they were all here this morning. I was shocked to see that over the past 6 years i've paid £1196.00 in charges, Now I want it back, do you think that they will pay me all or most of it, or will they be more likely to want to take things further??? any help will be very much appreciated .
You can claim back all the penalty charges.
Spend a few days reading the FAQs and the step by step guide in the library section. That will answer most of your initial questions.
Do not speak to the bank on the phone. correspond by letter only. Keep copies of every letter and every reply. That way you have a permanent record in writing of who said what.
Post any questions and progress reports in this thread.
Good luck with your claim.
Regards, Rooster.
