Default Pauline v Barclays Jersey **WON**

I am about to ask Barclaysicon Jersey for my last 5 years statements. I now live i Scotland and ony recently moved my accounts up here.
I just wondered if there was anyone else in the action group who have either claimed from Barclays Jersey or any other bank in Jersey, and wondered how they got on.

    Hi Unicorn.

The principles are exactly the same.
Just bear in mind that the limit for small claims in Scotland is £750. So if your claim is higher than that then you will have to split your claim and put them through one at a time.

Thanks for that. Will be sending off Data Protection for my statements over next few days. Hopefully wont have a battle on my hands for them. I called the bank direct the other day and they told me its would cost £5 per statement for anything going back from Nov 06 !!!!!. I told them to 'go take a hike' and that it would only cost me £10 re data Protection Act.

Sent off DPA today with £10 enclosed (only forgot to send it recorded, wally) but will see what happens. Have noticed that Barclaysicon have had a tendency in the past to be very awkward when it comes to asking for statements. I have asked for them for statements on my account covering the last 5 years. They will probably come back and say its all on microfiche and they dont have access etc etc, but will wait and see. In the meantime will be tackling MBNAicon as they refuse to pay my claim beacuse i agreed about 10 months ago to a settlement figure to pay off and close my account and they are now saying that any fees that accrued on my accounts were removed therefore there is nothing to refund. The fight goes on lol

Barclaysicon came back to me within 2 weeks with all my statements dating back to 2002 and they also didn't charge me for them (very decent). Have sent off my Preliminary letter and will wait to see what happens next.

Default Barclays makes a big boo boo lol

    UPDATE
Barclaysicon were very quick to reply with the usual standard letter that they are not responsible etc etc etc but as a gesture of goodwillicon they would refund me £300 (i am claiming £545).
However, on the letter enclosed for me to sign saying that i agree to their proposal someone had typed that they agreed to pay me £1600 !!!!!
So i have signed the letter in accordance with their instructions, sent it back, and now am waiting to see if they realise their mistake or i indeed get £1600 paid into my bank account. Have taken a copy of the letter, so there is no argument. Wonder what would happen if they do realise their mistake but i then threaten to take them to court over it ???
Anyhow, will still be settling for the full amount no matter what happens.
