Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Just a quick question to see where I stand, I know it's only £12 but I'm annoyed.
I received my Halifax credit card statement today and I've been charged £12 for a 1 day late payment. Payment due date was the 4th Nov. and the payment went into my credit card account on the 5th Nov.
I phoned credit card services and was told it was my fault and there was nothing that Halifax would do, even though I've had the credit card for over one year and the payments have always gone to them on time.
So, here's the question - Is there anything I can do to claim the £12 and will the late payment go against my credit rating?
Just went online to check my credit card statement and realised that I'm also a victim of the late payment fee of £12. Not much but it all adds up if you think how many consumer they are stealing from.
It is all boils down to the banks profit seeking strategy, the opportunity to make more profit; the free interest gained from the millions they steal and deduct the average cost of the 20% of people who might complain they are still in the money.
The bank gambles hoping on average people will ignore the negligible amounts, by comparison to what you owed it might seem small, but it is still illegal.
Most of us are put-off by the bureaucratic procedures which makes it difficult to recoup the money, and then you wonder if it is worth the effort in monetary terms?
I think it is a disgrace, no wonder they say we’ll give you extra ‘cause the rest of us are paying the extra.
I made a payment of £2000.00 (more than £1600 over payment) I still received my £12 penalty for 2 day late payment, so does it mean I have to pay on the actual day if I do not want to get fined as my early payment did get fined???
I included copies of my statement please tell me what you think, do I have a case?
