Â£250 refund one day, Â£250 reduction in credit limit next week

Barclaycard have refunded me £250 of the £1000 I'm asking for.

Strangely 4 days later they "reviewed my account" and due to 2 late payment charges in Jan and Feb, they have reduced the credit limit by.... £250.

I am fuming - the account only has a £1000 credit limit anyway, but to act spitefully is so incredibly unprofessional. Barclaycard are positive this is a coincidence.

Has anyone else had something happen like this?

Similar. I would put my life savings on it that this is no coincidence, its sounds exactly like the childish behavior I come to expect from these people. It doesn't matter in the great scheme of things I guess.

Retaliatory action perhaps? Banking Code icon

specifies that they are not allowed to do this. As the late payments were nearly a year ago, I can't see how the reduction has anything to do with this. Write to B'card stating you believe this to be retaliatory and therefore you want your credit limit reinstated.

This only makes me even more convinced that I made the right move 3 months ago, when they put the APR up by 5%, I took a loan with a much smaller APR and paid them off, and closed the accounts. Even if I am ever stupid enough to get a c/card, it will NOT be with them.

after claiming my charges barclaycard chopped my credit limit in half!

but like bw im closing the aco**** as the interest icon

is way too high!

Remember Folks...

(If at all possible)...It hurts the CC Comps. more if U can pay off your CC balance in full every month...NO extortionate interest icon

% is payable!!!
...and U have used THEIR money for YOUR convenience!!!

So if U are careful with your payment/spending dates in future, there is no need of depriving them of U costing them money every month!...lol...

I had Barclaycard slash my limit in half just cos I did a full Balance Transfer to a card with a much cheaper Life of Balance % Rate.

But will be using the Barclaycard minimally each month and paying off in Full to re-build my Credit Rating!

There's more than one way to exact revenge after years of being held to ransom!!!
