i have recently had a missed payment with the funding corp, and i agreed with them to pay an extra £50 a month ontop of my usual payment. since that time i've had nothing but demand letters and phone calls text messages etc. and today i had a letter to say the contract is terminated and they want the car back. now i have paid the monthly payments including the arrears every month, on time. All the errors that have been made, to cause all these letter etc , has been their fault. i find the company employees, as a hole the rudest ever. when i rang up today to ask them why they sent me a letter saying they wanted the car back, i ended up getting the phone put down on me. i think (think) it might be ok from now cos the arrears will be paid this month, but they have put me thru so much stress with THIER errors that i want a formal apology. ive sent a letter of complaint and sent the complaint to BBC 1's watchdog. but i really want them to be recognised as the bad firm they really are. is there anything else i can do. cos this has been really stressful and i don't really think anything will come of the complaint letter i sent to them and the BBC...................... ..........PLEASE HELP
Hi gman,
bought a car on hire purchase agreement with this little known com. Like you have experience when you miss a payment they rude in their phone conversations. If not available they will ring repetivel with some automated system, not to mention bombardment of your mobile phone with text messages if you have given it to them. Their letters stream along in a similar fashion.
I requested my statement and found they charged me over £700 in penalty fees and and requested my money back.
I appreciate you query is customer service related But your situation is closest to mine. Good luck with the complaint will be setting up a thread shortly on my progress. will keep the site up to date.
Goodluck!

I have a car that is on finance through the funding corporation and i have always found them to be quite reasonable, i missed a payment recently and they were quite happy to make it up over the next three payments and didn't charge me anything for missing the payment, the car has been excellent and although the interest is a little high thats the price you pay for having a poor credit score.
They have phoned me a few times but i explained that i start work at 6am and usually get home at around 6pm so there was no point in phoning me at home, i gave them my mobile number but they have never used it.
hi, jus seen your reply 2day. I actually did get a responce from thier customer service dept, and they refunded me £70 in charges as a good will gesture because of my (well there) prob. I still think they are awful for what they put me thru, the staff were absolutly dispicable to me. My account has been running fine now since then, so i'm jus waiting for the day that they ring me up to offer me more credit, so i can turn around and say " ya joking arn't you?? your the worst company i've ever delt with, why would i want to deal with you longer than i should" ??!! petty i know, but it would make me feel better. gonna give the car back soon anyway( as soon as i don't owe them any extra) its one of those gas guzzling types that the government is making a mint off ( and its not a 4x4, so it was a shock)
anyway, keep up ya fight t4ss, i agree with your fight against them, you can call on me if you need someone else to speak out about them
well what can i say the funding corporation team have the worst team ever they are so rude and patrinising. They are quick enough to chase you for money but as soon as you want some help they don't want to know. I asked them a week ago if they could help me and my partner out that month as my partner was laid off but was starting a new job the week after but they don't want to know, one of the staff said it's not my problem, they now have charged me £150 in charges for being in arrears it's a joke. I have an issue with one particular member off staff, who told me that i could bring my payments down by £40.00 a month if i cancelled my warranty which i put it in writing as advised by him, i then got a phone call advising me that this wasn't the case so i advised them that they need to train their staff properly before giving out information. I asked the person in question if i could speak to his manager but just changed the subject, i asked again and still waiting for a call back 6 days later A bit of advise to people wanting to use the funding Corporation , DONT STAY CLEAR!!!!!
Hi
I too am having problems with this outfit.
I requsted to end the agreement only to be told that I could'nt because it was a bill of sale.
This is correct but from what I have read on forums the BOS should have at least 14 points, mine has 11.
The cca has not been signed by anyone at the funding corporation and it has no agreement No.
The phone calls and texts I have received are unbelievable, so I asked that they stop with the calls only to be told they will collect the car and I will pay the outstanding balance.
Two hours later the calls start again.
I can't say they are the worst has i am just about to get in touch with them ibought a car from carcraft back in 05 feb and my brother was gaurantor , i have never missed a payment and now i am struggling and my brother died in may 07 , I am planning that they take the car back and no more payments hopefully.
Hi
Just had two phone conversations with Funding Corporation.
First one very rude man, told me to get loan off freinds or family, if I did'nt he would collect the car, told him I would'nt and tried to point out that their paper work is wrong. He slammed the phone down on me.
phone call 2, very nice lady said she has arranged for my payment to be added to the end of the agreement term.
I now wish to see if this paper work is worth the paper it's written on.
Any help please.
This is still an extremely rude company to deal with.
I have also had the constant harassment from these people, despite it being there error in the first place !
Does anyone know how to get out of a bill of sale with these people ?! All these people tell me is that THERE IS NO WAY OUT OF IT ONCE YOU HAVE SIGNED UP ! (My company has lease vehicles and I want to have a car with them as they are much much cheaper!) Please advise
We have our car finance with the funding coroporation and we are taking them to trading standards,we got our car from approved car finance only to have it go wrong with in six months of having and we also cancelled the warrenty as we were advised to by the salesman to bring the payments down, when we brought the car a year ago the salesman told us that the we would br repaying nearly 11 grand over 3 years about 2 weeks ago we found out that we are repaying 17 grand over 5 years we did not see that in writing when we signed for the car what a bunch of cons, looks like there is a few of us in this situtation.Well im not letting them get away with it i will fight this all the way.I rang them the other day just to let them know what i think of them,if everyone goes to trading standards then hopefully something will get done they cant be allowed to get away with this,so what if we got poor credit rating they are just trying to exploit that, goodluck all i will let you know the out come when ive heard back from trading standards.
wefound that we could'nt pay our payments each month so we voluntarily surrendered the car of which i am awaiting a phone call for them to take it back , check it is a motor loan and not hp , i know it is a credit agreement but i phoned and it is actually a motor loan as we got it from carcraft, they take the car then take it to auction and what they get get's knocked of your balance
hi, i had a car on finance from the funding corp for 2 yrs, i realised i could not keep up the repaymens and was told if i had paid over half off the money OR had the car for two years then i could voulontry surrender the car with no comeback... i did this in november and i have had nothing but hasstle off them
they ring, write, send text and even turned up at my work place.
this is really getting me down now and wondered if anyone could help me out.
I am new to this site but I was glad to see people ranting about The Funding Corporation.
I am just about to go to court with these guys who are trying to claim the balance of the finance I had out on a car I got from Carcraft – Yes I know – bad move !
The car was £4,700 on the forecourt, I paid £99 deposit but walked away with a loan of £11000 to pay back over about 5 years.
I paid over half the outstanding balance over 2 and a half years and decided to exercise my right as a consumer and ask them to take the car away which they did but now a year on I have received court summons for the balance of £5000 odd for a car that I do not have anymore and which they sold to auction for £800. They are trying to put a claim on my property so that if I sell up they get their share!
Any advice from anyone?? I am going to fight this.
I also think the staff are rude and obnoxious and the bombardment of calls and letters is soul destroying!
I was amazed by the forum and whilst it does not help me at the moment it was helpful to me to know that there are other people out there with the same problem as myself.
I had a credit agreement with this company October 2004, did not realise I was signing or a 5 year agreement (liked the car, very stupid of me not to look at the finer details). Until 18 months ago everything was fine until my husband got registered disabled. Money was tight. Boy did we have fun with this Company. Sorted them out eventually, then the middle son left his job (under a cloud but not his fault - later the company settled out of court) however we supported him for 6 months and are still struggling slightly.
The main point is that October 2007 I was late for that month's payment, texts, telephone calls (mobile and landline) 7 per day. It is happening again this month as I said we will be able to pay January 18th however because I will not give them my bank card details, every day telephone calls, texts, I have now turned my mobile off and am using a spare we have. Legal advise have told me to report harrassing calls to Office of Fair Trading which could take up to 14 days, I have also made enquiries to the police as they seem to think it could be criminal action.
How any anyone got on with their problems.
Good luck with the case. I have one outstanding for harassment, charges and credit file issues with them. It has been stayed pending the OFT case. That could take a long time.
Hi. I am new today to this site and what has drawn me to register is the amount of complaints about The Funding Corp. I too have been having big problems with them, too many silent calls, constant day and night on landline and mobile, rudeness from staff when they do actually speak to you, having the phone put down on me when I stood my ground, and even a letter that they have charged £45 for. I have made a complaint to the BBC Watchdog Programme but I do not think anything will be done through them unless other people feel as strongly as I do about trying to get them to apologise and admit their mistakes. I shall continue to get as much info as possible regarding this company and see how far that I can take this matter. hope anybody else in this situation with the funding corp doesn't give up.
