Yes get it back from them as it is unlawful. You can go back 6 yearsicon you know, so how much have the bank taken from you, just £30? Welcome to the CAGicon and one of the first things you need to do is to read the FAQ's. Once you have digested it try reading the successful people who have not got back one charge but a lot more. When you have enough information then start a thread in the relevant bank thread and you will get all the help that you need. Good Luck and Welcome once again.
Just re read it and saw you are in the right banks thread so please do the above re FAQ's and Nationwideicon successes. My brain seems to be deceiving me this evening

I came I saw I helped. I could do no more.

Ok, so what happens if i withdraw my money and set up another bank account, and refuse to pay the charge? My friends are on woolwich, and dont seem to have any problems, so i'm thinking bout setting up a new account with them tomorrow.

Letter said: "i hope you will appreciate why I am unable to refund any charges on your account" and if i cannot abide by the T+C's "then regrettable it may be appropriate for you to consider alternative banking arrangements"

edit: its only £30, but still.
