PLEASE HELP DESPARATE!! Being stung by Barclaycard
Hi, I'm new to all this and haven't used forums before either. I really need some help because I'm being stung by Barclays. I made a financial agreement with Barclaycard in 1999 after my marriage had broke up and only had one income. My final payment was in Feb 2004 and I received a credit for overpayment from Barclaycard also in Feb 2004. My account should have closed and I have not received any statements or further requests for payment since. Then I received a demand from Lowell Finance a few weeks agao stating they had bought my Barclaycard account and I owed them £594 to be paid immediatley. I have since had more demands from them and a threat to take further action despite my disputing their claim in writing and via telephone. CAN ANYONE ADVISE me on how I can fight these bullies?? And how can Barclaycard keep my account open and magically charge me for the privilige?? Please help I'm totally lost to what I can do to make these people realise they can't mess people around like this
