Hello - and a big welcome to the forums.

It seems from your questions that maybe you have not yet read through the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) which is an absolute must.

You (or your friend) are either about to start, or have already started, a legal process to recover funds from a large financial institution - do not do so lightly - even if the evidence suggests that it is an easy process.

Spend a day or two going through it, as this also contains the "Case Guidance Notes" and "Step-by-step" guides etc. You will find them invaluable, and you need to do this in order to grasp the implications of the task that lies ahead of you......

Once you have done this, if you still have any unanswered questions, then post them here and they will be resolved in no time....

Many people here could easily answer those questions, but it really is vital to do some of the groundwork yourself. On the plus side, the benefits of a little hard work will hopefully result in a nice refund of those charges in the months ahead.

    Good luck..!!!

    Subject access requesticon

    Dear Sir/Madam

    ACCOUNT NUMBER: xxxxxxxxx

Please supply me with a complete list of transactions and charges relating to my bank account since [xxDate as far back as you wantxx]. Alternatively a complete set of bank statements for that period will be acceptable.

Additionally where there has been any event in my account history over this period which has required manual intervention by any member of your staff or any other person, I require disclosure of any indication or notes which have either caused or resulted in that manual intervention or other evidence of that manual intervention in relation to my banking business with you.

If you are unable to supply data relating to manual intervention because there has been no such manual intervention then please be kind as to confirm this in your response to this request.

I enclose the statutory maximum fee of £10. You have 40 days in which to comply. Furthermore, if I discover that you have levied disproportionate penalties against me then I shall be reclaiming them and also reclaiming the enclosed £10 DPA Subject access requesticon fee.

However please note that the above address is the one which you normally use to communicate my private business to me and which you have hitherto found to be acceptable.
I would be happy to collect the Data from my local branch.

    Yours faithfully,

Yep, making sure that you enclose £10.

That will start the ball rolling.
