Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have received a letter from Barclays stating they will not increase their offer of £300 (I'm claiming almost £800) and that I should proceed with court action.
My problem is that I will be leaving the country on 29th December for 7 months and wondered if I was still able to proceed with the claim through the small claims court? Barclays have advised that if they do not hear from me in 8 weeks they will asume the case settled at £300.
You would need to be in this country in case you were needed to attend court, if you are not going to be here i think the judge would frown upon it to be honest. Try posting this in the barlclays forum for more advise: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...barclays-bank/
