Sent a letter to Natwest asking for all my charges back etc and got a reply saying the feel the charges are fair and basically if I wish to take them to court, bring it on!!! Is This normal???

Yes the reply you have had from Nat west is normal procedure - have a look in the nat west forum and after reading some of the success threads you will see whatthe process entails and NW's particular responses.
