Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I've received a pcn today and having scrutinised it I find there is no two digit contravention code. The NPAS website (know your PCN section) shows a ticket with this - mine should show '05' and it is missing. Is my ticket invalid because of this?
Exceeded pay and display by 13 minutes - I was in a church counselling a distressed bereaved client! I was parked right outside the door with a notice displayed indicating that it was a bereavement drop-in. I'd paid £2.40 for 2 hours of parking which is pretty extortionate anyway. I am so angry, these parking penalties are getting beyond the joke. This is the second time I've got a ticket while doing voluntary work too. All help appreciated. Thanks.
Definitely invalid - as will every other ticket issued that day by the same PA be!
Halifax £1,240.00 - Preliminary Letter sent 6/11/06 Standard reply received 8/11/06 Offer received 11/11/06 Offer rejected 21/11/05 and LBA sent Claim filed in County Court
I know this was a long time ago, but could you let me know on what basis you state that No Contravention Code makes the ticket illegal (I have one, but would need back up e.g. example of successsful case).
Was this particular challenge successful?
All help gratefully recieved (dealing with yet another non-bending council)
