Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi guys,
I have banked with A&L now for 6 years. I opened the account because i split from the ex wife and all so ended up out of work. I explained the situation to A&L at the time and requested an overdraft to cover myself. They refused and as a result i incurred bank charges. :o
Anyway....I have gone through the step by step process of sending letters etc etc and it has now gotten to the stage of my submitting an on line claim form for the princely sum of £680. (that includes stat int' and court fees etc...) They have responded to that with a form stating that they will defend all the claim. I am slightly confused...Is this an Acknowledgment which gives them an extra 14 days or is this a Defence? And does that still give them an extra 14 days? Or is it basically the same thing.
I am in the process of putting together my case. There is a lot of case history out there to use and suppported facts to chuck at them too. I recently read a thread "Jonny2bad" i think it was and he had about 300pages worth. Is it possible to just take from the cases the facts relating to what applies rather than submitting a "book"
I think A&L might be defending as i used my account with them to pay for the court fees. Put me into the black but it did feel good!
