Hi everyone

I had totally forgotten that I may have incurred charges with Barclaycard until today when I was writing a letter to the Halifax! I have been through all the statements I have (which go back to 2004, can't believe i've kept them!) and I have been charged the princely sum of £160.00. I am going to send a preliminary approach for repayment for these charges and not try to get the microfiche statements for pre 2004 from Barclaycard, there are unlikely to be any charges on them.

So, the mission against Barclaycard starts here! Prelim letter to be posted today.

Barclaycard have agreed to pay the difference between the 12 pounds OFT ruling and the amount they have charged me and so will credit me 60 something pounds to my next statement. As this will completely pay off my barclaycard I have decided to accept it and probably close my account with them to stop me being tempted to use it in the future - such high interest!

Accept the offer as a partial payment and continue to pursue for the rest. If i was in you i would be claiming for the charges + interest on the charges plus contractual interest on the whole amount. Use one of vampiress spreadsheets. u will probably find the amount they actually owe u is more than what u think.
