HI all

As you know I recieved a full settlement offer on 14/11/06 which I duly accepted and returned. They recieved this on the 20/11/06.

I phoned them last Thurs and they said it was being dealt with and that it takes 5-7 days to get a cheque raised.

Phoned again yesterday and they said cheque and letter had been sent on Monday.

Today still no cheque in the post so have just phoned again. The most rude and obnoxious little upstart Mr. Blackman (refused to give his first name!) spoke to me.

I told him that I had still not recieved the cheque and was concerned. He said that was not his problem and that once it was in the hands of the Royal Mail it was down to them. I told him that I was concerned as this was not a small amount of money and he said not my problem. Said if they got the cheque cancelled it could be up to 10 days before I got another (then denied he said this later!) and I should wait a bit later. I asked if the relevent Lloydsicon dept could do a direct transfer and he said no way they don't do this, can't be done if you don't have a Lloyds account. I said that surely a bank can transfer money to another bank but he said no way. Told me I was being unreasonable!
I asked what department dealt with writing out the cheques he said Bristol but said You cannot go to them direct You Have to deal with us. I told him that he was rude and I would rather talk to someone at Lloyds. He said I couldnt so I said well what if I go to my local branch and kick up there to get them to sort it. He got really rude and said I would just have to wait and asked if I had informed court of settlement so I said no wouldnt do this til money in bank. Then he asked had I got court date so told him yes (which I have for Jan). He just went on about royal mail and said tough basically. He did add that if after 7 days they might consider a direct transfer so I said then why cant you do that now he said they dont do it.ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

He was so rude I ended hanging up on him.
Does anybody know by chance which department it actually is that do the cheques and whether you can actually contact them?
