    a penny for your thoughts...

I've had a direct debiticon returned unpaid this morning for which I have recieved a charge from Barclaysicon, which they are calling "commission".

Thing is the charge is a relatively small £10 when compared with some of the other charges people are recieving. Not sure if it is a feature of my graduate account or what really.

Thing is, does this prevent me form trying to claim back my charges or will it make it any more likely that Barclays might try to defend the claim and perhaps give them a chance of winning.

    Your thoughts are greatly appreciated...

Hi Paulo and welcome to CAGicon,

I am afraid that I do not know the exact answer to your q - but I will direct it to someone who hopefully will.

    Hello Paulo,

I'm not 100% sure BUT...I personally would say it won't make any difference to a claim for getting your charges back. They can try and disguise it by calling it what they want but at the end of the day it is a disproportionate penalty for having a direct debiticon returned unpaid, no matter how they attempt to diguise it.

Has it cost them £10 for this "commission"? I think not. Have you asked for a Breakdownicon for what this cost is for/covers? If you do ask the question you can bet your bottom dollar you won't get an answer!

Read the FAQ's, know your game plan and let the claim commence.

    Regards, OD

Phone them and ask them how come it's £10! After all, you have a right to know, and if you post the answer here, it might help some other people in the future.

But reclaimable, yes. Unless they can show you how it costs £10 to return an unpaid d/d! (I'm going to guess they can't! )

Apologies to people who I was in the process of helping, I may be gone some time.
