Hi all,
I had a tooth filled by an nhs dentist - after three weeks the filling fell out. I returned to the dentist to have an emergency temporary filling as they did not have the time to do it properly. I asked if I would have to pay again for the permanent filling and they said yes. Can this be right?? Please tell me before I get this permanent filling done on the 13/12/06.!!!

Please dont quote me on this as it might be wrong, but I always thought that fillings were "guaranteed" for a year. So if they fell out, the dentist would have to do them again for free.
Wording below is taken from the NHS website:
If you pay for NHS dental treatment, there are three standard charges:
The amount you pay depends on the treatment you might need to keep your teeth and gums healthy.
You only pay one charge even if you need to visit more than once to complete a course of treatment.
If you need more treatment at the same charge level (e.g. an additional filling) within two months of seeing your dentist, this is free of charge.
Thanks for that - can you tell me what the website is please,as I might just copy it and take it with me to the dentist and see what they have to say about it.
