Hiya
Im currently trying to sort out the bank charges for my boyfriend and his mum. His mum received a letter back on friday saying that they are investigating the claim but it may take another 4 weeks. I dont know what im meant to do after this? am i meant to send another letter? im a bit confused by it all, as im just out of uni i said that i would do it for them and do not want them to be disappointed with the results.
if anyone could advise me it would be of a great help

Hiya
Ive posted before but couldn't find my other one to re-post! what can i say computers arn't my strong point!!
I am currently trying to sort out my boyfriends and his mum's bank charges for them, how nice am i ay?! They have said that if i do it for them i will get 10% of what they're owed so not all nice am i he he!
Basically ive sent the first letter off and got a reply for his mum saying they would look through the complaint and it would take another 2 weeks. We sent another letter off saying that we intended court action etc, that runs out on thursday. Do i have to register with money claim now, or wait til then. Has anyone else received a letter after the 2nd 14 days??
Also with my boyfriends claim they havnt even replied to his 1st letter and it has been well over 14 days? do you think they're ignoring it, or because they live in the same house they think one letter will suffice!! i am about to send his 2nd letter off now.
If anyone can help me get through this process, i need it!

Had a reply from Abbey, after 2nd lba letter.
It is dated 10th July and received today which is 22nd!! Do you think it was pre-dated?! i think so.
it basically says: i have carefully considered the points you have raised, namely that you feel the charges are contrary to the unfair terms in consumer regulations 1999. the fact remains however that the charges in question were prompted by payment requests against insufficient funds. as such, they are valid and in line with our terms and conditions. furthermore, having reviewed your account, i can see this is not the first time you have incurred charges. (considering that the account has only been opened three years and that is what is being claimed for, i dont understand what they are talking about)
............... However as a gesture of goodwill and to allow you to regain control of your finance, i would like to offer to refund £105.00 of charges which are due to be debited your account on 26th July. I am aware that you have incurred charges previously. ultimately it is your responsibility to monitor your account and ensure there are sufficient funds in your account at all times, even in exceptional circumstances. Any future charges will therefore have to stand and no further refunds will be offered.
i don't know what to do carry on with going to moneyclaim or not. im scared that i wont get any money back etc. the letter does seem to be quite firm. it does say that there has been charges in the past etc. has anyone else had this type of letter etc. let me know

As far as I know yes you can - add it to speadsheet and send copy to bank, there has been discussion about this before but I cna't find it to quote you exactly
