    Question Roxburghe/ HFO Services Ltd

Anyone had previous experience with either of these companies, they bought a debt off Barclaycard...

I've never heard of them to be honest. BUT wouldn't you be chasing the card company or bank regardless of which company bought the debt??

IT'S THE BANK OR CARD COMPANY WHO TAKE THE PENALTIES/CHARGES OFF YOU (Abbeyicon, Cap1, NAt West etc..) - so they are the people responsible for paying you the money back not the DCAicon who bought your debt off the bank/cc company.

I don't mean to sound abrupt etc.. - just trying to save you time chasing your money - if you haven't got all your statements for the last 6 yearsicon your first step is to send an SAR (Subject access requesticon) to the company asking for your statements - with the £10 fee for this - it's in the letter library (all you do is edit it to your own details and account numbers etc..)

If you already have your statements you just have to list your charges dates & amounts then total them up and send the Preliminary request for repayment to your bank/card company - letters for both types are in the library for you to edit.

Hope that helps you - if you get stuck ask - there is always an answer around here.

    Goodluck

Maybee - don't fret about the DCAicon company at all - infact forget them for now!! Your card company sold the debt to them not you - so you don't need to worry about that the contract is between the card company and the DCA. The DCA senses that you are after charges back and clearing your debt so they will try throw you off the scent? Don't be worried about that.

The reason your debt has gone from £300 to £600 is through the charges etc.. that the company have added to your card account etc.. - so don't panic - odds are you have been given charges over time with your credit card account? You need to find out what the charges were etc.. Do you have your statements? If not what you need to do is send a Subject access requesticon to your credit card company - asking for the back statements for over the last 6 yearsicon - the letter is in the letter library here at the top end of the forums lists (above where your Barclaysicon is listed - just flip back a page and scroll upwards and you will see the part I mean giving you access to the letters listings) - just copy & paste the letter so you can edit it to your account/name & address etc.. & remember to send the £10 fee Barclays address is listed here for you if you don't have it already - remember to send your letters recorded delivery so they can't say they haven't had your letter.

Then follow the steps above as I gave you to start off - if you are stuck ask and someone can help you out here. You need to read and read here to see the steps to take and what is going on with the organisation you are dealing with etc.. it makes it easier for you if you know what to expect - grim excuses off the company etc..

You really are not on your own - there is always help here for you to ask - I know dealing with this stuff is scary/daunting - don't be put off as you'll be glad you dealt with it - especially if it clears your debt and gets you money back etc...

I had some dealing wit them a couple of days ago. They agreed to hold any action prior to me sending them an expenditure sheet, the the nex day they sent an offer of a final settlement. I got in touch with them and they wanted £36 per month I told them there was no way i could afford that and then said nothing more. They then came back with an offer of £26per month. In view of other posts I shallkeep an eye on them and yheir lovely letters.

They bought my monument debt, keep geting calls from abroad but after writing four letters to them still get the calls got advice from national debtline who told me to ignore calls? they have never answered any mail and now I just tell them to take me to court and put the phone down, its an unsecured debt they really can not do a lot other than sell it on?
this is of course due to my circumstanses, I am on DLA for mobility and care I am almost 65 and my other debts are being paid off at £1.00 one pound per month, until they accept the same they wont get anything?
I am in council rented property which is also sheltered housing, all my worldly goods will not pay off my debts so I am not too worried.

Hi Scorpio and welcome to CAGicon.

You're right to ignore their calls. Clearly there's not a lot they can do about this and I'm glad you're not letting this get you down.

If they start getting nasty, start your own thread and we'll be happy to help you.
