Default PCN - Parked on DYL's that were not visible.

I was issued with a PCN this afternoon after being parked on DYL's. Parkforce have recently taken over the car parks at my University. The PCN states the reason for issue as being parked on double yellow lines on Maintance RDicon. I have photos of the site where I was parked, although I moved my car before I had the sense to go back and take them. The photos show the lines are not visible, they are covered in leaves and muck. I was not obstructing anyone or anything, the road is not a through road it is used by the maintance vehicles at the Uni, as far as I know I was parked perfectly 'legally'.

There was another car parked behind me, also issued with a charge.

I have never had any sort of parking fineicon or charge in my 3 years of driving and I really would like to object to this one, having parked in the same place many times before, prior to Parkforce being on the scene, with no trouble.

I read on one of the other threads, a post made by someone from PF, that they will not accept 'no spaces left' as a valid excuse for parking on DYL's. Parking is a major issue at the Uni yet having parked in the same place on many an occaision prior, I assumed there would not be a problem. I was there for a maximum of two hours and as I said before, NOT causing an obstruction.

Do I have a case for objection? If so how do I go about it?

    Many thanks in advance.

Given that it was issued by a private company, potentially on private grounds it would be best to post the exact wording of your pcnicon, particularly if it makes reference to an act of Parliament.

I've been browsing these forums most of the evenings but I'm still unsure as to where I stand...

When Parkforce took over the parking at my Uni they issued permits to students and staff. I applied for and received one, does this mean I cannot claim that I wasn't driving at the time? The fact that I signed for a permit also removes my right to claim ignorance of the 'parking terms and conditionsicon' does it not?

    Thanks in advance :]

Nothing you have signed or agreed to means that they are entitled in law to charge a penalty for a breach of contract. They are entitled to their liquidated losses and that's it.
