Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm just getting things started and am going to send my SAR tomorrow morning recorded delivery.
I am a little confused from what i have read on quite a few threads as to where i am sending the SAR to. The registered address is the one in London but i have read that some people have sent there's to Bexley Heath and then others have sent it to their local branch. Can someone please shed some light for me. It would be much appreciated.
Anyway I managed to check as far back as November 2005 on my statements on-line. From there to present I have been charged £1280. I have had the account since January 1999 so i'm quite lookin forward to seeing how much more they have had of MY money (I'll be claiming from November 2000). I shall wait in anticipation.
Look forward to hearing from anyone and all the advice anyone can give will be greatfully accepted. I have had a good look around this site over the last couple of weeks and things are pretty straight in my head but it's always good to get advice from people in the know.

Re: Gettin started
Hello and Welcome
Well done for posting in the right forum, hopefully now any question you have will be answered by other people claiming against the same bank as you who have extra knowledge!
I’m claiming against this bank as well - I'm a bit further down the line than you so don’t worry about thing for now!
First of all don’t panic - you will soon have your money back in your hands where it belongs!!
Yes…you can claim back your charges, even if you were late paying, even if you went over your limit and even if your DD Bounced!!!
Remember the banks have acted unlawful you haven’t!!!
Before you start anything make sure you read the FAQs and as many threads as possible as there is a wealth of information on here!!
Remember its important to open a parachute account, especially if the charges are spiralling out of control and you have little or no money left, at the end of each month.
If you get stuck have a look (by searching) to see if your question has already been asked by reading other people threads, if you are still not sure either post your question in your own thread or PM me and I will be happy to help you.
Also look for another newbie claiming against the same bank as you, that way you can do your claim together and support each other as the post drops through the door!!
Sometimes the banks act awfully and you can get very stressed out by it all. But stick to your guns - you are in the right - they are not. Don’t let them put you off, that’s what they want to do!
Hope this helps
Good Luck

Thank you allyxia for your advice and thank you for the templates. I wasn't really sure what to do about my account still having a negative balance so that was a real help. I have opened a parachute account and and my monies will be going into that this month.
Can anyone advise me please. My account is in negative balance and i am wondering should i offer to pay so much a month to clear this or do i just send the letter headed 'Notice pursuant to s.10 of The Data Protection Act 1998' and wait for a reply?

Re: Gettin started
Its up to you!!
Is the account overdrawn to too charges?
If yes then I would personaly send them that notice!! and use your para account.
If its mainly do other issues suck as cleared chaques then you could offer to make small repayments if you can not pay the whole balence off in one go!
