Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
spoke to Halifax today after getting one of there £39 letters to give them a chance to cancel the charge. Was told 'no chance' and i wont be getting any money back off them. Woman kept banging on about them having till 31st May to contest OFT ruling. Does anyone know about that date?
p.s It has put me off, it's made me more determined.
Got my card statements today, got to say it's quicker than i expected. Surprised to find only £290 over the last 4 years but hey ho i want it back. Letter sent today.

By the way, for all your loan accounts, you simply go into your branch and they can print off all your transaction charges there and then. Dont let them tell you other wise.
Had a reply for a loan that had been paid off today, £40 in charges on there, dont think i'll bother with that unless i can lump it all together with £490 they owe me from my other loans. Any ideas guys?
And another thing, what about all the postage costs that are racking up? Estimate about £20 per account if it goes the whole way. Can we add that to the final total before court? Or am i being greedy?
If it goes to court, claim it all back. If you've used the standard template in the forum that states,
Furthermore, if I discover that you have levied disproportionate penalties against me then I shall be reclaiming them and also reclaiming the enclosed £10 DPA Subject access request fee.
then claim the £10 DPA fee back as well, it's perfectly legitimate as legal costs as you've had to outlay this fee to access the data prior to launching proceedings.
With claiming back postage, ensure you keep receipts from the post office when sending recorded and special delivery as it makes it easier to prove they are legitimate costs.
