Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
First time posting but am now in process of filing court claim against Halifax. So far the have offered me £200 towards a £400 claim.
I have started my filing on line court claim, but am a bit worried about what I am writing as I haven't got the small claims book. Previously, I hadn't calculated the overdraft interest, but now should I include the 8% interest in my claim.
Any suggestions for wording etc. would be gratefully appreciated!
I have just been offered £1158.00 of a £4200 claim, on the questions and answers section I am sure they said I should accept any offer then fight for the rest of my money, bit worried to accept incase they won't let me take it any further. Any hints?
hi there!
i was so scared to start my claim, but thanks to everyone on the site, i had the courage to refuse the 180 offer out of 500 , and after going to the court claim, 3 weeks on, I had a letter today confirming that i won full repayment , plus 8% interests and court fees! 700 pounds!! it really is worth it, go for it!!
best of luck to you

Hi best thing to do is start your own thread in the Halifax forum here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk.../halifax-bank/ and keep us informed. Then what you need to do is have a read around the site make sure you know what you're doing.
I presume you have already sent the Preliminary and lba letters and are now onto your claim. It is only at this stage that you calculate your 8% interest. Details on how to do this and the wording you need for your claim is in the templates section of the site here: http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...lates-library/

There is nothing they can do to stop you from taking it further. Please start your own thread in your banks forum, this makes it easier for us to help you.
