Hello,

First time poster, apologies if this is clunky.

I received a letter from dwp advising a sum of arrears had been calculated but was being withheld as possible overpayments had been detected.

I'm familiar with the process if overpayments are discovered but, the dm couldn't work out where it was coming from and writ it off.

I think he was as baffled as I.

I was placed into the support group early June and received a lump sum at the end of June and was advised this extra amount from 13/10 - 21/12 is a seperate amount

Hello,

First time poster, apologies if this is clunky.

I had to leave employment in September and advised tax credits who advised I would receive a 4 week run on in benefits,

I received a lower rate of esa in the meantime.

4 weeks came and went tax credits still in place and esa still at reduced rates.

The error didn't get sorted until mid December and I then started to receive the correct esa amount.

My tax credits final award came through in the beginning of July at them owing me an amount as I earned considerably less than though.

The dm I spoke with at the dwp has subsequently writ off any debt, I'm not sure if I am due the arrears still or not?.

Would the tax credit final award have triggered a dwp possible arrears / overpayment notice ?

Thanks

dx

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...
