no doubt a Who nerd will correct this if it's wrong.

unlike the likes of the Hulk for eg who is Mr banner.

    link doesnt work for me.
anyway, not sure what you're pointing to.
'she hulk' is she hulk, not 'the hulk'. the hulk is bruce banner.
just like there can be a spiderwoman, batwoman, superwoman etc. but they won't be peter parker, bruce wayne, clark kent.
The doctor is one (alien) entity that will be Dr Who regardless of gender, apparently.
i guess then the doc is now a 'Time Lady' rather than TimeLord, or shld that be TimePerson

OH thinks she should be the 14th or maybe 15th Dr Who.

What about John Hurt who was in the 50th anniversary episode? And more tenuously, David Morrisey?

I think its just so precious that nobody whinges about the baddy having a female incarnation (how understandable hehehehe),
    but the doctor ...
My God, he'll be davros next

For sci-fan fans, even the Eternal Champion included a very few female incarnations (as well as 'the doctor')
    Ilian of Garathorm for example

Nevermind what we think, what does the TARDIS think?

Does that mean the TARDIS might end up male - that really would be the end of the universe as we know it.

Oh The TARDIS is not only 'female' but also "Sexy"
    She said so herself.

That of course might change now (well the first bit anyway) although of course there is no reason for either to change.

Jodie Whittaker is currently in a drama about someone who is pretending to be s doctor.
In the trailer she says "I'm not a real doctor"

    Says it all really.

ah ok. the tardis being the doctors one.
had thought maybe it would be similar to its 'owner' in that it could change to suit.
ie if a T'lord, hence a female Tardis. and vice versa.
now the doctor is a Time Lady...the docs Tardis shld now be male?
unless it perhaps happens to be of the same persuasion.

maybe the tardis now feels that way since the doc is now a Lady.
(given the prior innuendo between the (male) doc and his tardis, that is alluded to)
