Hi

I had a Bailiff knocking this morning

they posted a removal notice through my door.

On the back it says about them using lock smiths to gain entry.

The money they are chasing is for an unpaid parking fine.

My question is are they able to gain access using a locksmith?

YES its a court fine. but very rare

tell us more please

tell us about the PCN

why have you ignored it till now?

please don't hit Quote...just type we know what we said earlier..

DCA's view debtors as suckers, marks and mugs

NO DCA has ANY legal powers whatsoever on ANY debt no matter what it's Type

and they

are NOT and can NEVER  be BAILIFFS. even if a debt has been to court..

If everyone stopped blindly paying DCA's Tomorrow, their industry would collapse overnight...

If you are certain that the debt is for a local authority issued penalty charge notice then the simple answer is that NO, there is no right for the enforcement agent to gain entry by way of locksmith.

However, the enforcement agent is permitted to 'remove goods in your absence' but this is not to be confused with gaining entry by force.

The reference to 'removing goods in your absence' refers to instances where for example, there may be a vehicle on your driveway etc.

PS: Do you still have the vehicle that was involved in the road traffic contravention?
